Latinx and Black Youth Organize and Rise!

Did you know Art of Solidarity started in a Baltimore City art class? AoS builds bridges across cultural, racial, economic, geographic, language, and generational barriers to address social justice issues with those most impacted by them. AoS is an expert partner, modeling excellent relationship-building skills for youth to enter into the workforce side-by-side with LGBTQ+ professionals to combine their stories, concerns, and talents into public works of art.

"Queernesseseseses!" is a new mural to unveil by the Fall 2025. It will face Fayette Ave on the north side of Bmore Liberated from the community-centered design process facilitated by Maria Gabriela Aldana. Over 50 designs were created during the summer of 2024 as collaborations between YouthWorks and CASA de Maryland youth, who attend high school in Baltimore City and Baltimore County, queer therapists of Bmore Liberated, filmmakers of Kap2ure Film Studios, and a variety of LGBTQ leaders of Baltimore. The project earned attention for its documentary shorts, telling the untold stories of LGBTQ change-makers in Baltimore. Youth presented what they learned as part of their internship and launched their careers as this was their first paid job. They have signed up to continue the paid internship in the summer 2025!
